Marcus wins"Junior Racer of the Year Award" in Sweden.
At the annual big night of Swedish motorsports, The Swedish Motorsport Exhibition and Awards, 17 year old Marcus Ericsson was awarded by the Swedish Car Federation "Junior Racer of the Year award", after winning the 2007 Formula BMW U.K. Championship in his first year of open wheel racing.
He also got sholarships from both The Ronnie Peterson and Anecto Racing memorial funds, and was awarded "Motorsport Junior Driver of the Year", a voters poll organized by the car magazine "Bilsport", and the "Rydell Special Award".
"Its amazing, said Marcus. There are many candidates with excellent achievements this year and so to be awarded with all these great prizes in one day is a true honour. I think I have to tell my dad to get a bigger car to get them all home! I really want to thank everyone for their support, and a special thanks to my family and Brack Talent Development and the sponsors, who has made it all possible. I hope I can continue my good form next year when we take the step up to British Formula 3".
The Swedish Motorsport Exhibition and Awards is held in Stockholm and arranged by The Swedish Car Federation and the car magazine "Bilsport".
